Good Sleeping Habits

  • Ensure you have a good quality pillow and mattress
  • Check your duvet is the right tog for the time of year (summer 4.5 tog, autumn 10 tog and winter 13 tog)
  • Keep your bedroom cool and dark throughout the night
  • Ensure your bedroom is a quiet and calm place
  • Keep your bedroom clean, tidy and clutter free

  • Eat at least 7 portions of fruit and vegetables per day

  • Keep below the recommended units of alcohol per day (3-4 for men & 2-3 for women)
  • Be prepared at home and at work with healthy foods e.g. fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds
  • Avoid eating a big meal in the evening
  • Avoid refined processed foods as much as possible, aim for 100% whole-foods

Exercise

  • Movement = energy.  Aim for at least 30 minutes of movement everyday.  Walk, cycle and take the stairs as much as possible  
  • Exercise in the morning, this energises you for the day and kick starts your metabolism (e.g. 3 times per week get off the train one stop early and fast walk into work)
  • Aim for a balanced exercise program (cardiovascular, resistance and stretching)

Work/Life Balance

  • Do more of the things you enjoy
  • Set aside time for your hobbies, friends, family etc
  • Organise your life better to have more time for what you enjoy
  • Do something everyday just for you
  • Spend time with positive people who give you energy and inspiration
  • Create a clear partition between work and non work

Mind Management

  • Relax or meditate for 20+ minutes a day
